The farm
Clayton Farm is a 400-acre working sheep and fruit farm, situated in the High Weald area of outstanding natural beauty and enveloping the end of a hill that offers stunning views out across the medieval town of Rye and the sea. Apple orchards sit on the upper slopes of the hill, growing fruit for supermarkets, fruit processing and juice. The majority of the juice goes to Copella but some is made into our own craft cider called ‘Starvecrow’. The lower slopes and marshes are where the 640-head ‘closed’ traditional Romney flock live with lambing happening in April as traditional.
