Our Story
The Cherry Barn is a beautifully restored 17th century oak-framed barn within our 400-acre working farm, which has been in the family for generations.
The barn was originally used to store hay and the lean to for machinery. A beautiful space that needed celebrating, in 2018 the idea for The Cherry Barn came to life. Care has been taken to preserve the barn’s original features and to make it beautiful and modern without stripping it of its character and warmth.

The Farm
Situated in Peasmarsh, the farm borders Rye, The Tillingham River and Udimore. Clayton Farm has a Romney flock of 550 ewes and apple orchards; harvested apples go for juicing and processing. The farm presses its own juice for the local market called Claytons apple juice, and produces a natural craft cider called Starvecrow.
